Description
|
|
VB-4858 is a Low Cost,
Flow Coat version of VB-2021-MD Vacuum Metallizing Basecoat,
and has been designed specifically for use in the
finishing of
Automotive forward lighting, tail lamp assemblies,
residential and commercial lighting
applications, as well as general purpose and
decorative VM finishing work.
Among its attributes,
VB-4858 adheres to most
thermoplastics as well as un-primed
Polypropylene, various grades of TPO,
Nylon, Noryl and some metal. VB-4858 requires
relatively short cure cycles and
delivers high build, superb flow and
outstanding brilliance. This VM Basecoat
insures a finished article with
unusually good appearance and over-all
optical properties.

Application

Apply by conventional
and
HVLP Spray, Flow Coat and Dip.

Apply as is for Spray
Basecoat applications. Reduce 1:2 or 1:3
for Flow Coat and Dip Basecoat
applications. Reduce 1:3 or 1:4 for Flow

Cure Cycle
|
|
Flash off 15 minutes,
followed by a 60 to 90 minute cure at a
minimum part temperature of 160 degrees
F., to as much as 260 degrees F., depending on
substrate and
film thickness at application.

Storage
|
 |
Store in tightly sealed
containers, at ambient temperatures.
Protect from moisture, evaporation and foreign
materials. Process ability of this product
can be adversely affected by evaporation
and contamination.

Shelf Life
|
|
12 months, provided
materials are kept in sealed original
containers under specified conditions.
Storage beyond this period can produce
higher viscosities.
