VT-4860 U.V. Resistant Vacuum Metallizing Topcoat
Description
VT-4860 is a fast Air Dry, U.V. Resistant  Clear Vacuum Metallizing Topcoat.  Among its attributes, VT-4860 offers exceptional U.V. Resistance, Water Soak, Salt Spray, Humidity, QUV and Thermal Resistance. In addition, VT-4860 provides outstanding adhesion, and optical properties at thin film load levels.

VT-4860 is ideally suited for interior and exterior surface Automotive, Residential and Industrial Lighting applications.

Reduction
Do not reduce VT-4860. Apply as is.
Application
Method: Apply by conventional and HVLP Spray.
Coating Properties
Water Soak: No evidence of blistering, whitening of the coating surface or loss of adhesion after  240 hours emersion at 104 degrees F., and 5 minutes recovery.
Acid Resistance: No evidence of blistering, whitening of the coating surface or loss of adhesion after 24 hours emersion in a 1% hydrochloric Acid solution at 77 degrees F., and 5 minutes recovery.
Humidity: No evidence of cracking of the coating surface, shrinkage or whitening of the coating surface after 120 hours at 98% relative humidity at 38 degrees C.
Fadeometer/QUV: No evidence of blistering or whitening of the coating surface after 1000 hours QUV.
Thermal Stability: No evidence of blistering, cracking or yellowing of the coating surface. No evidence of adhesion loss. Testing completed after 240 hour at  155 degrees C.
Salt Fog: No evidence of coating deterioration, cracking of the surface, or whitening of the coating surface after 100 hours.
Cure Cycle
Air Dry (or) Flash off 15 minutes, followed by a 40 - 60 minute cure at 180 degrees F.
Storage
Store in tightly sealed containers, at ambient temperatures. Protect from moisture, evaporation and foreign materials. Process ability of this product can be adversely affected by evaporation and contamination. 
Shelf Life
12 months, provided materials are kept in sealed original containers under specified conditions. Storage beyond this period can produce higher viscosities.
