Description
|
|
VT-4825 is a Universal
High Gloss, "2K" Metallizing
and Sputtering Topcoat, designed for use
in interior and exterior Automotive
grade Vacuum Metallizing applications.
Among its attributes, VT-4825 provides a
highly modified mild solvent system that
allows it to be used over most
conventional and all Chemically
resistant and 2K Basecoats.
VT-4825 can be applied
directly over Acrylic surfaces, for use
as a barrier coat. In addition,
This 2K VM Topcoat offers relatively
short curing cycle requirements,
exceptional water soak, humidity and
U.V. resistance, and delivers optimum
brilliance and outstanding Mar
resistance in a two component system.
VT-4825 lends itself
for use in most general purpose and
decorative Metallizing applications,
where greater film hardness and above
average film characteristics are
required. VT-4825 has been tested to,
and meets the Ford Motor Company ESF
M5P1-A specification.

Catalyst Requirements
|
|
|
Pre-Catalyze VT-4825 at the
rate of 8 parts paint to 1 part SX-122.
For fastest Cure, use in conjunction with SX-167
Cure Accelerator. Add 1% SX-167 by weight,
to catalyzed VB-4825.

Reduction
|
|
|
Apply as is, or reduce as
required with TH-552
2K Reducer Blend.

|
|
|
Application
|
|
|
|
Method:
|
Apply by conventional
and
HVLP Spray.
|
|
|
|
Cure Cycle
|
|
Flash off 15 minutes,
followed by a 60 minute cure at a minimum
of 160 degrees F.
|
|
|
|
Storage
|
|
Store in tightly sealed
containers, at ambient temperatures.
Protect from moisture, evaporation and foreign
materials. Process ability of this product
can be adversely affected by evaporation
and contamination.

|
Pot Life
|
|
VT-4825 offers an
approximate pot life of 12 hours when
catalyzed with SX-122. Pot life may be
reduced by as much as 75% when used in
conjunction with SX-167 Cure Accelerator.

|
|
Shelf Life
|
|
12 months, provided
materials are kept in sealed original
containers under specified conditions.
Storage beyond this period can produce
higher viscosities.

|
|
|

|
VT-4825 is available in 5 and 55 gallon epoxy
phenolic lined steel containers. Please
